Suburb Profiles
Overview
Box Hill is a rapidly expanding suburb in Sydney’s Hills District, located 48 kilometers north-west of the Sydney central business district. It falls within the local government area of The Hills Shire. As part of the NSW Government’s North West Priority Growth Area, Box Hill has become a key development zone, experiencing significant growth alongside neighbouring areas like North Kellyville.
Rezoned in 2013, Box Hill is bordered by Boundary Road to the west, Annangrove Road to the east, Old Pitt Town Road to the north, and Windsor Road to the south. The suburb is expected to house around 42,480 residents across 13,276 dwellings upon completion. Its modern infrastructure, new housing developments, and expanding amenities are driving rapid transformation.
In July 2020, a portion of northern Box Hill was designated as a separate suburb named Gables, and it also absorbed parts of nearby Rouse Hill. Box Hill continues to attract new families and residents, becoming a key hub within the Hills Shire.
