Overview

Small in numbers but a strong community spirit exists in Annangrove providing residents with a shopping centre, local primary school, sporting fields, environmental centre and a rural fire service.

Situated some 41 kms north west of the Sydney Central Business District it forms part of the Hills District region and sits within The Hills Shire Council local government area. It forms part of a unique and varied region within close proximity to Rouse Hill Town Centre, Norwest Business Park and the Castle Hill shopping precinct. Easy access to modern road networks link the area to the Sydney CBD and suburbs and regions in all directions via the M1, M4 & M7 motorways.

It is named after Annangrove House, the ancestral home of Edward Johnston, grandson of George Johnston who had received a large land grant in the area. He had named his house Annangrove reflecting his birthplace in Scotland.

Originally timber cutting was the prime industry and then cleared land was used to establish orchards.

Land size is predominantly 5-acre parcels throughout the suburb some having cleared usable land whilst others enjoy pristine natural bushland features.
